Lida H. Mattman, M.D.Lida Mattman, M.D., a renowned researcher, dedicated her later years to research the similarities between Lyme disease and other diseases, and published many articles, as well as an amazing book entitled "Stealth Pathogens." This book describes the chimeric qualities and parasitic adaptability of the Lyme Spirochete. The Spirochete, which is most similar to Syphilis, apparently creates a "biofilm" when it clusters in the body in order to protect itself from antibiotics, thereby making it difficult for patients to recover. Dr. Mattman was a dedicated, true intellect whose work is on the cutting edge of medical information. Hopefully, another standard bearer will take up her cause in the near future and focus on the extremely frightening adaptability of B. Burgdorferi, and concentrate on destroying the biofilm which allow it to go undetected by testing, yet leaves the victim extremely ill. Lida Mattman died in August 2008, and will be greatly missed for her compassion, her intellect, and her tireless ability to think "outside of the box" in fighting Lyme disease. The Greater Hartford Lyme Disease Support and Action Group Members of the Town of Farmington - Community Services held an educational medical conference in Farmington, Connecticut on May 7, 2005. That was the 30th anniversary of Lyme disease. Lida was one of the guest speakers at that conference and we thank the support group for their generosity in giving us permission to share a portion of this wonderful conference! The following video is approximately 42 minutes, 9 seconds: If you wish to see other speakers at this conference, including Lida, click on this link: www.ctlymedisease.org/videoclips.htm. The Greater Hartford Lyme Disease Support Group also has a web site that is very helpful: www.ctlymedisease.org/lymedisease.htm.
